As Kazio was being born, all of Poland was busy staring at their television sets. It was 1977 and the Polish soccer team was playing the game of the century. Kazimierz Deyna, one of the most highly regarded soccer players of his generation, just scored his most famous goal. The boy was named Kazimierz (or Kazio) after him.
The film is the story of Kazio, who was born in communist Poland, raised in tumultuous times of the political transition, and entered the new millennium with family of his own.
The day Kazio’s wife gives birth to their baby daughter, all of Poland is once again watching a soccer game on television: Poland is beating Portugal.
A humorous story about growing up, about love crushes and life choices, in which Deyna and Boniek score goals, white socks become an aphrodisiac, desire leads to purity, and a traditional Polish mother crushes Eastern markets. This motion picture is a careful selection of memories from communist Poland.
